Giovanni Weeks named CCIW Football Student-Athlete of the Week for the second-consecutive week

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton College junior Giovanni Weeks has been named the CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week for the second-consecutive week, earning the conference's weekly award on offense.

For the second-straight week Weeks found the end zone four times. Last Saturday he led the Thunder to a  Wheaton's 49-7 victory at Millikin. Weeks opened the scoring with a three-yard touchdown run, and added scoring runs of two yards and one yard later in the first half. With a 53-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, Weeks tied a 74-year old program record with his 19th rushing touchdown of the season and also secured the CCIW rushing title with 1,191 yards. Weeks finished the game with 114 yards on 16 carries and also added 103 yards on four receptions.

Weeks is currently ranked second in Division III in yards per carry at 8.33 yards per carry. He is fifth in the nation in all-purpose yards (176.78), sixth in rushing touchdowns (19), and sixth in scoring (12.7 PPG). The junior is eighth in Division III in total points (114) and ninth in rushing yards per game (134.6 YPG).

Wheaton faces Aurora University this Saturday at noon in First Round game of the 2021 NCAA Division III Playoffs.
