Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton senior Seth Kortenhoeven has been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in football for his efforts in Wheaton's 45-3 victory over North Park on Saturday. This is the first weekly accolade from the conference for the Thunder this season. This marks the first career CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week award for Kortenhoeven.

Kortenhoeven made a major impact in the return game during Wheaton's 45-3 win over Albion College, returning four punts for 132 yards, averaging 33 yards per return. His day was highlighted by a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. In addition to the 55-yard return, he had punt returns of 41 yards, 24 yards and 12 yards on Saturday. Kortenhoeven currently leads all Division III punt returners with 156 punt return yards in 2026, and ranks fifth with an average of 26 yards per punt return.

Second ranked Wheaton opens conference play on Saturday night under the lights at McCully Stadium. Saturday's matchup against Millikin kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
