Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton women's soccer team picked up its fourth-consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 victory against Illinois Weslyan (4-6-1, 2-1-0). Wheaton remains undefeated in conference play at 4-0-0 this season, while the Thunder improve to 6-5-1 overall.

Sophie LindquistWheaton's victory today was setup by two early goals in the first five minutes of the match. Wheaton's first shot of the day was off the foot of Sophie Lindquist (PICTURED LEFT), just 3:27 into the match. Lindquist's shot was at the far edge of the goal area, from about 12 yards out as she beat IWU keeper Maria Fields one-on-one. Lindquist's fourth goal of the season gave Wheaton a 1-0 lead. Illinois Wesleyan moved the ball towards the Thunder goal and attempted two shots right after Lindquist's goal, but an IWU offside call stalled the Titans' momentum.

Immediately following the offside call, Wheaton again responded with a  quick goal. Senior Sara Bakke delivered a pass that found Grace Hermanson. Hermanson beat Fields on a shot from about 13 yards out that landed into the lower left side of the goal. On just two shots in the match, Wheaton gained a 2-0 Thunder lead just 4:04 into the match.
