Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's soccer team hosted UW-La Crosse (10-2-2) on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt. The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw, playing 110:00 minutes through two overtimes. Wheaton is now 6-5-2 on the season.

Mia Blair was her third goal of the season, and was assisted by
Sara Bakke. Bakke's cross from the left edge of the box found Blair at the goal face and she put it past Eagles' goalkeeper Quinn Shannon.
Wheaton continued to have the momentum advantage in the first half as the Thunder possessed the ball for 57% of the first half. Wheaton out-shot the Eagles 6-3 in the first 45 minutes, including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Each team was awarded two corner kicks in the opening half.
The Eagles gained momentum early in the second half. The third Eagles' shot of the half was a goal off the left foot of Natalie Schisel and assisted by Sophie Amundson. Schisel scored from about 12 yards away from the goal to tie the contest at 1-1. UW-La Crosse had an 11-4 shot advantage in the second half, including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.Â
Wheaton's best scoring opportunity in the first overtime was the only shot attempt of the period.
Grace Hermanson blasted a shot that was narrowly wide left of the net a little more than four minutes into the opening overtime session. Each team had a shot on goal in the second overtime, but saves by the respective goalies prevented the shots from going in goal.Â

Lauren Ketchum made eight saves and allowed one goal in the match. Shannon stopped six shots and allowed one goal as the Eagles' netminder.
UW-La Crosse held a 15-12 advantage in shots for the match, including a 9-7 edge in shots on goal. The Eagles attempted four corner kicks and the Thunder were awarded two. Â
Wheaton returns to conference play on Saturday night as it hosts Carthage at 7:00 p.m.
