River Forest, Ill. - The Wheaton women's soccer team traveled to Dominican University (12-2-2) on Tuesday afternoon for an afternoon non-conference match against the Stars. The hosts tallied an early goal and added two more during the match to defeat the Thunder 3-0. Wheaton falls to 7-6-2 on the season with today's loss.
Dominican came out attacking early, taking the first six shots in the match. The Stars broke through with their fourth shot attempt, a goal by Regan Coxon. Coxon's goal just 13:14 into the match was assisted by Alexandria Canarelli. Coxon scored her second goal of the match 39 minutes into the contest to give the Stars a 2-0 lead. Her second goal of the first half was assisted by Noelle Chong and Hannah Anderson.
Dominican out-shot the Thunder 12-3 in the first 45 minutes, including a 5-1 edge in shots on goal. The hosts had a 55% to 45% advantage in possession in the first half.
Coxon struck again for the Stars early in the second half. She tallied a hat trick with her third goal of the day at 49:52. Canarelli assisted on the goal as Dominican's advantage was extended to 3-0. Wheaton did gain some momentum in the second half, as the Thunder out-shot the Stars 8-2 in the final 45 minutes, including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton had five corner kicks in the second half and no corners for the hosts in that time.

Lauren Ketchum played all 90 minutes for the Thunder, allowing three goals with three first-half saves.
The Stars out-shot Wheaton 14-11 in the match, including a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded six corner kicks in the match, with Dominican taking three.
The Thunder return to Joe Bean Stadium on Saturday, resuming conference play. Wheaton hosts the Bluejays of Elmhurst University at noon in Saturday's contest.
