Lakeland, Fla. - The Wheaton men's tennis team played the third match in its four-match trip to Florida during Wheaton's Spring Break on Wednesday. The ninth-ranked Spartans of Case Western Reserve University defeated the Thunder 9-0.
The Spartans won all three doubles matches in the meeting. CWRU won at No. 1 doubles 8-2 and topped the Thunder 8-0 at both No.2 and No. 3 doubles.
Case Western won five of the six single matches in two sets. The lone three-set match in singles play was at No. 3 singles. Case Western's Earl Hsieh defeated Wheaton's
Nathan Fruh 4-6, 6-1, 10-0.
The Thunder conclude the Spring Break trip tomorrow at 11:30 AM (EDT) against Hampden-Sydney College at Sanlando Park in Altmonte Springs, Florida.
