Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Thunder men's tennis team concluded its annual spring break trip to Florida with a 5-4 victory over Hampden-Sydney College on Thursday afternoon. Wheaton won four of the six singles competitions and split the finished doubles matches. Wheaton split its four matches on the trip and will now wait to take on Principia University on March 28.
Alex Winters and
David Houlihan won Wheaton's lone match, tallying an 8-1 decision at number three doubles. The Tigers claimed an 8-1 victory at number two doubles and earned the victory due to an injury retirement at number one doubles.
Anderson Park won in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 at number one singles and
Jeremiah Yi and
Jack Wenzel earned 6-2, 6-2 victorires at number two and four singles respectively.
Alex Winters dropped his first set at numbers six singles 2-6 but rallied to win the next two sets 6-2 and 10-5 to win his match.
