Wheaton, Ill.- Wheaton's Thunder concluded their two week winter training program by swimming against Lake Forest. Due to weather conditions, the Thunder canceled their trip to Holland, Michigan against Hope College and Kalamazoo and instead hosted Lake Forest College. The men's team out swam Lake Forest 599-489, swimmers placing top two nine out of eleven events.
Jacob Lippiatt and
Kael Gannon placed 1-2 in the 50 freestyle, Lippiatt touching first with a time of 22.10 while Gannon swam 22.92.Â
Will Rinne and
Jacob Lippiatt touched first and second in the 100 freestyle, Rinne 46.78 and Lippiatt 48.91. Rinne also placed first in the 200 freestlye with a time of 1:46.24.Â
The 200 backstroke consisted of Josh Dull and Abe Plimpton placing first and second, Dull first with a 2:04.80 and Plimpton second with a 2:05.60.
Ethan Kile and
Benjamin Griffith touched 1-2 in the 200 breaststroke, Kile timing 2:11.61 and Griffith second with a 2:20.18.
Dawson Bremner placed first in the 200 butterfly with a 1:59.46, over two seconds faster than Lake Forest's second place finisher.
Griffith and Kile once again made their appearance in the 200 IM, Griffith first with a 1:57.20 and Kile a close second with a 1:58.36.
The men's A relay team placed first both in the 400 freestyle and 400 medley. The 400 freestyle relay consisted of
Micah Kimel,
Jacob Lippiatt,
Kael Gannon, and
Cleveland Speece, altogether timing a 3:19.52. The 400 medley relay team compiled Plimpton, Kile, Rinne, and Kimel to swim a 3:23.22, over ten seconds faster than Lake Forest's A relay.Â
The Thunder will host Millikin Friday, January 17th at 5:00 pm.Â
