Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team remained undefeated following an 8-1 win at home against Carroll on Saturday. Wheaton is now 4-0 on the season, including 2-0 in CCIW play.
Emme Lindquist was a 6-2, 6-3, victor at No. 2 singles in her matchup against Carroll's Ashley LaBelle.
Claire Dibble defeated Carroll's Carolyn Merkatoris 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and
Nicole Freeman rallied for a 4-6, 6-0, 10-7 victory against Carroll's Maya Gaedtke at No. 4 singles.
Abygale Ahn swept Lora Leach 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and
Bethany Hoogerheide defeated Erika Bosman 6-2, 6-1 in the match at No. 6 singles.
Claire Browning teamed with Ahn for an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles against Grace Krueger and LaBelle. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Dibble and Freeman defeated Gaedtke and Merkatoris 8-1. Lindquist and Hoogerheide earned an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles against Francesca Grimes and Rachel Papp.
The Thunder return to action on September 13 as Wheaton hosts Edgewood College at 5:00 p.m. Wheaton hosts North Park at noon the following day for a CCIW matchup against the Vikings at noon on September 14.
