Milwaukee, Wis. - The Wheaton volleyball team improved its season record to 4-1 on Friday evening with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-12) victory at Alverno College (0-5). Wheaton dominated the Inferno tonight as the Thunder posted a .375 attack percentage as a team in the match with 28 kills on 56 total attempts. Wheaton also had 11 service aces in the three-set win.
Freshman
Emma Sweatman tied for the team lead with seven kills and tallied a team-best 11 digs in the match. Sophomore
Colleen Smith contributed seven kills for the guests.
Ellie Brown had five kills for the guests. Senior
Alecia Funk tallied a team-high 17 assists and
Marlee Anderson added eight assists with four service aces.
The Thunder return to action in the MSOE Invitational on Saturday in Milwaukee. Wheaton takes on Lake Forest College at noon on the campus of Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Thunder face the host Raiders of MSOE at 2:00 p.m. in Wheaton's final match of the day.
