The Maroons remained unbeaten, moving to 2-0-4 on the season. Wheaton will conclude its four-game homestand on Friday night with a 7 pm kickoff against WashU.

Chicago dominated the run of play for the majority of night, piling up 29 shots on goal and allowing Wheaton 17 shots. The Maroons placed 15 shots on goal, only to be turned away 14 times by reigning CCIW Defensive Player of the Week Hasten Biddlecome. The physical match saw seven yellow cards issued amidst a 35-foul affair.

UChicago wasted no time taking the initial lead, taking the game's opening kickoff and converting it into a goal just 18 seconds into the match. The Thunder defense was tested frequently over the next ten minutes but was able to slowly stem the tide of momentum for the Maroons and start to push forward into the attacking third. Chicago attempted 16 of its 29 shots in the opening half but took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Wheaton was able to assert itself in the attack as the game wore on began pressing the Chicago defense as the clock would into the later minutes of the match. Wheaton's break finally came in the 85th minute when Michael Groza fought off several defenders slid the ball across the top of the 18-yard box to Joey Sopikiotis, who lofted a tricky shot over Katsimpalis (VIDEO) and just under the crossbar to tie the match. The Thunder continued pressing over the final minutes as regulation drew to a close.

After a quiet first overtime period, Biddlecome answered the call early in the second overtime when the Maroon attack came streaming down the right side and sent a dangerous cross in front of the net. Katsimpalis answered with an equally impressive save with two minutes to play when Silas Galvao found a streaking Peter Whallon, whose header was stopped at full extension by the Maroons keeper, preserving the draw.
