Bloomington, Ill. - The No. 2 seed Wheaton men's tennis team opened its participation in the 2019 CCIW Men's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 victory against No. 7 seed Illinois Wesleyan in the first round on Thursday afternoon. Wheaton advances to play No. 3 seed North Central Friday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur.

Andrew Bristol defeated Illinois Wesleyan's Ryan Yoo and Demetrios Triantafe, 8-6.
Anderson Park and Alex Winters earned an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles against Tim Hughes and Justin Piotrowski of Illinois Wesleyan.
Jacob Panjwani and
Jack Guenther picked up an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles against the IWU tandem of Cole Hundman and Michael Behrensmeyer.
The Thunder closed out the win by picking up the two necessary wins in singles play.
Anderson Park was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles against Triantafel.
Jack Guenther defeated Behrensmeyer 6-3, 6-0 in their matchup at No. 5 singles.
