GAME STATS Waukesha, Wis. – The Thunder baseball team extended its win streak to four games on Tuesday night with a 5-1 victory at Carroll University (9-14, 1-6 CCIW). Wheaton improves to 17-6 on the season and 7-3 in CCIW play.

Wheaton scored five runs, on 12 hits, with on error and the Pioneers tallied one run, on seven hits, with two errors. Thunder starting pitcher
Kevin Champlin (3-0) shined in seven innings to earn the win. Champlin allowed one run, with a career-high 10 strikeouts, no walks allowed and he scattered six hits.
Luke Kram pitched one inning of scoreless relief as he held the Pioneers hitless, with one strikeout.
David Solfelt tossed one inning of scoreless relief. Solfelt allowed one hit, walked one batter and recorded one strikeout.
Matthias Haggerty and
Sam Reichert (PICTURED LEFT) were each 2-for-3 at the plate for the Thunder, with a RBI for Haggerty.
Evan Ogden and
Connor Hartman each had a 2-for-4 effort as Hartman scored a run for the Thunder.
Jesse Welch was 2-for-5, scoring a pair of runs.
Joel Pierce hit his team-high fifth home run of the season as he drove in three of Wheaton's five runs in the game.

Wheaton gained an early 3-0 lead as Pierce (PICTURED RIGHT) belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning to five the Thunder edge. The Pioneers scored a run in the bottom of the third inning to trim Wheaton's lead to 3-1.
Wheaton increased its lead to 4-1 in the top of the fourth inning as Haggerty hit a RBI-single that drove in Welch home. The Thunder advantage increased to 5-1 in the top of the eighth inning on a RBI-single by
Ben Brittain that scored Welch for his second run of the night.
Wheaton returns home on Friday night when it hosts North Park in a CCIW matchup. Friday's game at Lee Pfund Stadium is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. in Carol Stream.
