Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team hosted Illinois Wesleyan (3-8, 1-5 CCIW) ) on Tuesday afternoon for Wheaton's first CCIW match of the season. The Thunder shut out the Titans 9-0 as Wheaton improves to 5-8 on the season and 1-0 in CCIW.
Wheaton swept the three doubles matches this afternoon against the Titans. The No. 1 doubles team of
Andrew Bristol and
Josh Cheng earned an 8-6 victory against the Titans' Demetrios Triantafel and Ryan Yoo.
Anderson Park and
Alexander Winters earned an 8-3 victory at at No. 2 doubles against Justin Piotrowski and Tim Hughes. The Thunder tandem of
Jacob Panjwani and
Jack Guenther defeated Michael Behrensmeyer and Cole Hundman 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Park defeated Triantafel 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Cheng earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory for the Thunder at No. 2 singles against Yoo. Panjwani picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles against the Titans' Piotrowski and Winters defeated Hughes 6-2, 7-6 in their matchup at No. 4 singles. Wheaton's Bristol was a 6-3, 6-2 winner against Behrensmeyer at No. 5 singles and
Christopher Jones of the Thunder topped Hundman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Wheaton is scheduled to host Carroll in another conference matchup on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Â Â
