Sarah Tomich and Sara Bakke earn recognition as First Team Division III All-Americans from United Soccer Coaches

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton College junior Sarah Tomich and sophomore Sara Bakke have each been named a 2019 First Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches. Tomich is a repeat First Team All-American and Bakke earns the recognition for the first time in her career.

Earlier this week Tomich was honored as an All-Central Region defender by United Soccer Coaches for the second-consecutive season. Tomich earned First Team All-American recognition as a Thunder defender. She anchored a Thunder defense that allowed just two goals in 22 matches, including only one goal allowed in eight conference matches. The Thunder defense posted a 0.44 goals against average this season, recording 15 shutouts. Last month, Tomich was named was honored as the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season.

Bakke had a breakout sophomore season for the Thunder, also earning First Team All-Region recognition as a midfielder. She led Wheaton in total points with 22 this season. She scored five goals with a team-high 12 assists.
