Bloomington, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in CCIW play on Saturday with a victory at Illinois Wesleyan. The Thunder defeated the Titans, 9-0.
Wheaton's
Claire Browning was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at No. 1 singles against Rebecca Rochacz of Illinois Wesleyan.
Emme Lindquist picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Alessia Giradin in their matchup at No. 2 singles.
Claire Dibble was a 6-0, 6-2 winner for Wheaton against Ashley Mohr at No. 3 singles and
Nicole Freeman defeated Caitlyn Smith 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Wheaton freshman
Abygale Ahn defeated Autumn See 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and
Bethany Hoogerheide earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles against Andrea Zulawski.
Browning and Ahn teamed up for an 8-3 victory against the IWU tandem of Rochacz and Mohr at No. 1 doubles. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Freeman and Dibble defeated the Titans' team of Girardin and Smith 8-3. Lindquist and Hoogerheide defeated See and Zulawski 8-2 in the matchup at No. 3 doubles.
Wheaton hosts North Central on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
