Decatur, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team earned a 9-0 conference win at Millikin (4-6, 2-3 CCIW) on Friday afternoon. Wheaton improves to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in CCIW play.
The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of
Claire Browning (PICTURED ABOVE) and
Abygale Ahn earned an 8-1 victory against the Millikin tandem of Morgan Bettner and Shelby Jones.
Claire Dibble and
Nicole Freeman picked up an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles against the Millikin duo of Danielle Beard and Brianna Barconi.
Emme Lindquist and
Bethany Hoogerheide earned an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles against Katie Cooper and Alena Hinch.
Browning was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles against Millikin's Morgan Bettner. Lindquist earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Jones at No. 2 singles. Dibbles picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Barconi at No. 3 singles. Freeman defeated Beard 6-2, 6-1 in their matchup at No. 4 singles. Ahn was a 6-1, 6-0 victor against Millikin's Katie Cooper at No. 5 singles. Hoogerheide won her match against Alena Hinch at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-4.Â
The Thunder remain in conference play tomorrow afternoon with a CCIW match at Illinois Wesleyan.
