Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's soccer team, ranked seventh in this week's Division III Coaches Poll by United Soccer Coaches, defeated Millikin University 3-0 on Wednesday night at Joe Bean Stadium. Wheaton is now 14-1-1 on the season and 6-0-0 in CCIW play, while the Big Blue fall to 3-8-2 overall and 1-4-0 in CCIW play.
Tonight's win improved Wheaton's current undefeated streak to nine matches as Wheaton is 8-0-1 in that span. The victory also improved the undefeated streak for the Thunder in CCIW regular season matches to 27, as Wheaton is 26-0-1 dating back to 2016.

Carney Blake tallied a goal at the 11:17 mark of the match as she fired a shot from just inside the top of the 18-yard box to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead (
VIDEO). Wheaton maintained its 1-0 lead throughout the remainder of the first half. Wheaton out-shot the Big Blue 24-2 in the first half, including a 9-1 edge in shots on goal.
Blake scored her second goal of the night on a free kick at the 59:29 mark of the match to extend Wheaton's lead to 2-0 (

Sara Bakke blasted a shot from just outside the far edge of the 18-yard box that landed in the back of the net to give Wheaton a 3-0 lead at the 60:19 mark of the contest (
VIDEO). The Thunder held a 13-8 advantage in shots in the second half, including a 9-5 edge in shots on goal.

Lauren Ketchum made three saves in 61 minutes of work in the Thunder net.
Madison Lee replaced Ketchum in the final 29 minutes of the match, making two saves. Millikin goalkeeper Jennifer Miller made 15 saves and allowed three goals in 90 minutes of work in the Big Blue net.
Wheaton out-shot Millikin 37-10 tonight, including an 18-6 edge in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded 13 corner kicks in the match and Millikin attempted three.
The Thunder return to action next Wednesday at Carthage College.
