Bloomington, Ill. - The Thunder volleyball team dropped a CCIW match at Illinois Wesleyan (7-17, 5-2 CCIW) on Tuesday night at the Shirk Center. The Titans topped the Thunder, 3-1 as Wheaton won the first set 25-21. Illinois Wesleyan won the second set 25-21, picked up a 25-23 victory in the third set and IWU closed out the victory with a 25-22 win in the fourth set. Wheaton is now 13-10 on the season and 2-5 in CCIW play.
Audrey Gerze led the Thunder with 11 kills tonight and
Colleen Smith tallied 10 kills.
Deborah Smith added seven kills and
Ellie Brown had five.
Alecia Funk distributed 17 assists and
Marlee Anderson had 13.
Freshman
Allie High led all players with 27 digs. Funk had 16 digs, Anderson added 15 and Gerze recorded 10 digs.

The Thunder travel to University of Chicago on Wednesday night for a match against the top-ranked Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Wheaton returns home on Saturday to host a tri-match in King Arena. The Thunder take on Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Saturday at 10:00 a.m., followed by IIT vs. Kalamazoo College at noon and Wheaton against Kalamazoo at 2:00 p.m.Â
