Thunder women's basketball returns to action with a 70-57 win against Wilmington

Bluffton, Ohio -
The Wheaton women's basketball team returned to action on Friday afternoon with a 70-57 victory against Wilmington College at Bluffton University "McDonald's Holiday Tournament". The Thunder advance to play Bluffton University in the tournament's championship game on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (EST).

Jennifer Berg led the Thunder with a team-high 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Hannah Frazier contributed 15 points, with four blocked shots, three steals and two assists. Kristi Demski contributed 12 points off the Thunder bench as the sharpshooter made four three-pointers and added two steals. Devin Kyler scored nine points with eight rebounds. Jordan Myroth and Hannah Williams each scored eight points. Myoth distributed six assists and Williams snagged two steals.

Wheaton shot 37.3% (22-59) from the field, including 50% (8-16) from three-point range. The Quakers posted a 36.8% (21-57) field goal percentage, including 28.6% (4-14) behind the three-point arc. Wheaton shot 78.3% (18-23) at the free throw line and Wilmington had a 78.6% (11-14) effort at the charity stripe. The Thunder out-rebounded Wilmington 39-36, including a 13-10 edge on the offensive glass.

McKayla Binkley led Wilmington with a game-high 18 points. Kelly Noll added eight points for the Quakers. Faith Teaford grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
