Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder women's soccer team played its final home match of the regular season on Wednesday night as the Thunder defeated Carthage 3-1 at Joe Bean Stadium. Wheaton is now 14-3-0 overall and 7-0-0 in CCIW play. Wheaton has already secured the 2018 CCIW Championship and the top seed in next week's CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament.

The Thunder dominated play in the first half tonight as Wheaton out-shot the Lady Reds 10-1, including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. Thunder sophomore
Sarah Tomich converted a header into the back of the net as she headed the ball into the goal off
Carney Blake's (PICTURED LEFT) corner kick at the 28:48 mark of the match. Wheaton led the Lady Reds 1-0 at halftime off of Tomich's goal.
Wheaton responded quickly in the second half.
Aeva Graber scored her sixth goal of the season on a shot from about 10 yards out thanks to a Blake assist. Just 1:36 later,
Izzy McNally served up an assist to
Isabelle Oliver in front of the net to quickly extend Wheaton's lead to 3-0.
Carthage's Joanne Stanfa scored for the Lady Reds at the 86:06 mark of the match off a Jacey Kent assist. Stanfa's goal accounted for the final 3-1 outcome in favor of Wheaton. Wheaton out-shot Carthage 5-4 in the match, including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Lauren Ketchum started in the net for the Thunder. Ketchum played 45 minutes, with one save and no goals allowed.
Madison Lee played the second half for Wheaton, with one goal allowed. Carthage netminder Emily Furmanek made five saves, allowing three goals in 90 minutes of work.
Wheaton out-shot the Lady Reds 15-5, including an 8-2 edge for the Thunder in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded two corner kicks in the match and Carthage had one.
Wheaton concludes the regular season Saturday evening at North Park.
