Thunder women's basketball tops Carroll at home to extend win streak to six games

The Wheaton Thunder women's basketball team extended its win streak to six games on Wednesday night with an 82-36 win at home against Carroll (5-11, 2-5 CCIW). Wheaton (12-4, 6-2) never trailed in tonight's game and out-scored the Pioneers 20-6 in the first 11 minutes to pull away early.  

Hannah Frazier scored 21 points and Maggie Dansdill tallied 19 points to lead the Thunder tonight. Frazier shot 7-of-10 from the field, with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Dansdill shot 8-for-12 from the floor, with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

31392Kelly Lawson (PICTURED LEFT) scored 12 points for the Thunder and Jennifer Berg added 10 points with five rebounds. Devin Kyler and Jordan Myroth each distributed four assists. Jill Berg added six rebounds for the hosts and Kyler blocked three shots.

The Thunder shot 49.1% (32-of-65) from the field tonight, including 37.5% (9-of-24) from three-point range. Carroll posted a 26.4% (14-of-53) field goal percentage on the night, including a 16.7% (2-of-12) effort behind the three-point arc. Wheaton shot 90% (9-of-10) at the free throw line and the Pioneers had a 46.2% (6-of-13) effort at the charity stripe. The Thunder out-rebounded Carroll 49-26, including a 13-6 edge on the offensive glass.

Delaney Sjong led Carroll with 14 points and Katie Rosetti tallied six points for the guests.

Wheaton hosts Trinity Christian College in a non-conference matchup on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in King Arena.
