Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder wrestling team, ranked 25th in the latest NWCA Top-25 poll, fell to 14th-ranked North Central on Tuesday night in a dual meet at King Arena. Wheaton is now 4-5 in dual meets this year with the Cardinals improving to 10-2 in dual meets this season.
Carlos Fuentez got the Thunder started on the right foot with a dominant 20-5 technical victory at 125 pounds. Wheaton's other victory came at 157 pounds by way of a 10-1 major decision victory by
Frank Aiello. North Central earned points via a fall at 197 pounds and earned technical fall victories at 141 pounds and 149 pounds. The Cardinals claimed major decision points at 133 pounds and 149 pounds and won decisions at 174 and 285 pounds.
Wheaton will next be in action when the Thunder host the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational, beginning next Friday, January 26.
