Bluffton, Ohio - The Wheaton volleyball team closed out its participation in Bluffton College's Sommer Spiketacular on Saturday. Bluffton defeated Wheaton, 3-0 (25-19, 29-27, 25-17) in the first match of the day for the Thunder. Hanover topped the Thunder, 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20) to close out the tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Madeline Moore was named to the all-tournament team for her outstanding effort over Wheaton's four matches during the weekend.
Moore and
Emily Potts each led the Thunder in the matchup against Bluffton with nine kills.
Ellie Brown and
Katie Rohrer each had five kills. Jess Bosse recorded three service aces and tallied 12 kills.
Kelly Thornton registered 10 digs and posted a team-high 16 assists.
Alecia Funk registered 13 assists in the matchup against the Beavers.
The Thunder travel to Oshkosh, Wisconsin Wednesday for a tri-match against Edgewood College and UW-Oshkosh.
