Moline, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team defeated Carthage 5-2 on Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the 2017 CCIW AQ Tournament. Wheaton advances to the Final of the tournament on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The Thunder will face Augustana in the final at Quad City Tennis Club on Saturday. The winner of Saturday's matchup earns the conference's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.

Carthage won two of the three doubles matches. Wheaton's victory at doubles came from the No. 3 doubles team of Claire Browning and Kirstie White. Browning and White earned an 8-3 victory.

Kirstie White was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 4 singles and Sara Magnuson picked up the 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles. Emma Westwick picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. Junior Katie Park clinced the win for the Thunder with a 6-2, 7-6 victory at No. 1 singles.
