Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team returned to action on Saturday afternoon with a matchup at home against Concordia (Wis.) Wheaton was a 9-0 victor against the Falcons (11-7) to improve Wheaton's overall record for the 2016-17 season to 16-2. The Thunder women's tennis program honored seniors Anna-Katherine Barrett (PICTURED ABOVE LEFT) and Emily Jones (PICTURED ABOVE RIGHT) at today's match for their outstanding contributions to the program.

Jones defeated Concordia's Ashley Solberg 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Katie Park returned to singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Bailey Kelly. Kirstie White was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles versus Hannah Tresedder and Miranda Kay picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles against CUW's Elizabeth Carroll. Sara Magnuson earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles versus Michaela Wagner and Emma Westwick picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles against Sabine Jacobsen.

Park and Jones teamed up a No. 1 doubles for an 8-6 victory against the Falcons' team of Carroll and Solberg. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Kay and Magnuson earned an 8-0 victory against the CUW tandem of Kelly and Tresedder. Wheaton's No. 3  doubles pair of Anna-Katherine Barrett and Claire Browning were 8-1 victors against Jacobsen and Wagner.

The Thunder will return to action on April 8 when Kalamazoo College and Webster University visit Wheaton.
