Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Thunder men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision against nationally-ranked Coe College (12-3) on Thursday. The Kohawks entered today's matchup ranked 37th in the most recent ITA Division III Coaches Poll. Today's match concluded Wheaton's (5-5) four-match trip to Central Florida.
Justin Ancona defeated Coe's Brady Anderson 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles in a battle of regionally ranked foes.
Dane Paulsen was Wheaton's other victor in singles action with a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Coe's Nate Ackert at No. 2 singles.
The No. 1 doubles team of Ancona and
Matt Steiner earned an 8-2 win against Josh Pudlo and Luke Ford.
Wheaton returns to action on March 25 with a match at Lake Forest College.
