Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton softball team will kick off its 2017 campaign on Saturday with the first of 10 games as part of the NTC Spring Games in Florida. Wheaton is coming off a 2016 season that saw the Thunder set a new program record with 32 wins and reach the NCAA Regionals for the first time in program history. Additionally, the Thunder established new single-season marks for at-bats, hits, triples, RBI, home runs, and total bases. In her fifth season as head coach of her alma mater, Katie East will look to replace a large graduating class this season. Wheaton is picked to finish third in the CCIW Preseason Coaches Poll.
