Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team earned a 5-4 victory against Wabash College on Saturday morning. The victory is the third in a row for the Thunder, all coming by a final result of 5-4. Wabash (5-5) entered the match ranked 15th in the most recent ITA Central Region ranking and Wheaton ranked 17th in same poll.

Wheaton opened today's match with the Little Giants by winning two of the three doubles matches. Justin Ancona and Matt Steiner teamed for a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles against Wabash's William Reifeis and Patrick McAuley. The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of Josh Cheng and Andrew Bristol defeated Wabash's George Go III and Andrew Denning 8-2.

The two teams spilt the six singles matches as Wheaton earned wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Ancona defeated Reifeis 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Dane Paulsen (PICTURED ABOVE) defeated Wabash's Michael Makio 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Steiner earned Wheaton's third singles win of the match with a 6-0, 6-4 victory against McAuley at No. 3 singles.

Wheaton will open up its Spring Break trip to Florida on March 6 with a matchup against Moravian College.
