Bloomington, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's basketball team (4-2, 1-1 CCIW) dropped an 88-81 matchup at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday night in King Arena. The Titans (6-2, 2-0 CCIW) snapped a 70-70 tied with an 18-11 run over the final eight minutes of regulation to close out the win for the hosts.

Hannah Frazier led the Thunder with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Senior
Maggie Dansdill scored 19 points, with five rebounds and two blocked shots.
Devin Kyler (PICTURED LEFT) grabbed a career-best 16 rebounds. Kyler scored eight points with four assists and three steals.
Jennifer Berg contributed 13 points off the Thunder bench, and her sister
Jill Berg tallied eight points, with six rebounds.

The Thunder led by as many as seven points in the first quarter with a 14-7 advantage with 4:30 remaining in the opening quarter. Wheaton held a 24-20 lead at the end of the quarter as Dansdill (PICTURED RIGHT) drained a three-pointer to close out the quarter.
The Thunder twice built up seven-point leads in the second quarter, including a 36-29 lead with 5:55 remaining in the first half.
Jennifer Berg's three-pointer in the final 10-seconds of the second quarter allowed Wheaton to lead the Titans 45-44 at the halftime intermission.
Frazier's layup with 4:30 remaining in the third quarter gave Wheaton a 59-55 lead, however, the Titans responded with a 12-2 run to take a 67-61 lead with 1:08 remaining in the third quarter. The Titans led 69-74 at the end of the third quarter.
Wheaton opened the fourth quarter with a 6-1 run to tie the game at 70-70 with 8:45 remaining in regulation.
Jill Berg's traditional three-point play was the effort that tied the game. Following Berg's points, IWU responded with a 14-2 run to take an 84-72 lead with 4:50 left in the game. That key run was part of the Titans' 18-11 run that closed out the game to give the hosts the 88-81 win.
Wheaton shot 44.4% (28-of-63) from the field tonight, including 25% (4-of-16) from three-point range. The Titans posted a 55.2% (32-of-58) field goal percentage, including 66.7% (8-of-12) behind the three-point arc. Wheaton shot 72.4% (21-29) at the free throw line and the hosts had a 64% (16-of-25) effort at the charity stripe. Wheaton out-rebounded the Titans 39-32, including an 18-10 edge on the offensive glass.
Wheaton remains on the road Saturday in a CCIW matchup at Elmhurst. The Thunder and the Bluejays will tipoff at 2:00 p.m. in the conference contest. Â Â
