Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's and women's swim teams dropped a dual meet against Division I UW-Milwaukee on Friday evening at Lederhouse Natatorium. The Wheaton women's team fell by a score of 131-69 while the men's team finished on the low end of a 120.5-79.5 score.

Milwaukee dominated the first touch in Friday's dual meet but the Thunder earned 12 second place finishes by 10 different individuals. Wheaton's lone event victory came in the men's 400-yard individual medley with Will Rinne turning in the eighth-fastest time in program history in the event with a finishing time of 4:08.81, winning by nearly nine seconds. Rinne also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly, losing a photo finish with a time of 52.63 seconds, just .01 seconds off the pace.

The Thunder women's team had five individuals earn second place finishes. Brooke Barnes narrowly finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.64 seconds, just .04 seconds behind UWM's Jennifer Kordik. Bethany Doyle was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:40.25. Meredith Clarkson finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.80 to earn a runner-up finish and Ashley Bowen finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.91. Liz George earned a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.00.

The Wheaton men also had five individuals record runner-up finishes. Jack O'Connor was second to the wall in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.85 seconds and the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.43). Chris Dingfield's time of 4:58.85 was good for the second in the 500-yard freestyle. Joshua Dull was second in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 56.02 seconds. Daniel Deysher dropped a close race in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.49.

Wheaton will next be in action on Saturday, November 11, when the Thunder travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a dual meet at Calvin College.
