Dubuque, Iowa - The Wheaton volleyball team faced Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) foes Dubuque and Loras on Saturday at the Dubuque Quad. Dubuque defeated the Thunder 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-16) in Wheaton's opening match. Loras earned a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) victory against Wheaton in the second match of the day.
Madeline Moore (PICTURED ABOVE) and
Katie Rohrer each had six kills in the match against Dubuque.
Emily Potts and
Kelly Thornton had four kills apiece. Thornton led the Thunder with 11 assists.
Jessica Bosse tallied 13 digs for the Thunder and Moore tallied 10 digs.
Moore registered 10 kills against Loras. Rohrer recorded eight kills, Potts had seven kills and
Ellie Brown added five kills. Thornton distributed 19 assists in the match and
Alecia Funk had 10 assists. Bosse tallied 21 digs and
Jackie Boulris added nine digs. Brown had three total blocks in the match.
Wheaton returns to conference play on Tuesday night with a matchup at Augustana. The Thunder face the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. in Rock Island, Illinois.
