Bloomington, Ill. – The Thunder volleyball team lost 3-0 at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday night. The No. 18 Titans won the first set 25-18, followed by a 20-16 victory in the second set. The hosts closed out the victory with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Katie Rohrer tallied a season-high 14 kills on 23 attempts, with just one error as she posted a sensational .565 hitting percentage.

Emily Potts added eight kills. Junior setter
Kelly Thornton had 27 assists in the match and junior
Jessica Bosse recorded a team-high 10 digs.
In the first set, the Titans snapped 3-3 tie with a 7-1 run that gave IWU a 10-4 lead. The hosts never trailed in the set after that point. Rohrer had five kills in the set and Bosse tallied five digs. Thornton and
Alecia Funk each recorded five assists.
Wheaton led 2-0 early in the second set, however, the Titans countered with a 7-2 run that gave IWU a 7-4 lead and the hosts never trailed in the set. Moore led the Thunder in the second set with four kills, Thornton contributed nine assists, and Bosse had five digs.
Illinois Wesleyan led 6-1 to open the third set and never trailed in earning the 25-18 victory in the decisive third set. Rohrer tallied six kills in the final set and Potts added five kills. Thornton had 13 assists in the set for the guests.
Wheaton travels to the University of Dubuque Quad on Saturday. The Thunder play the host Spartans of Dubuque in the opening match and close out the event with a match against Loras.
