Kenosha, Wis. - The Thunder swim teams split a dual meet at conference rival Carthage College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder women's swim team knocked off the Lady Reds 171-127. Losing out on a number of close touches at the wall, the Thunder men's swim team fell 202-92 to the Red Men. Wheaton will host Olivet Nazarene for a dual meet on Friday night at 5 PM at Chrouser Natatorium.
Wheaton's women's 200-yard medley relay team of Erin Bagley, Kayla Roberson, Sarah Oldach and Jen Barich-Mooday set the tone for the day for the Thunder women, winning the event in a time of 1:50.57 to top the Lady Reds by a full second and a half. Wheaton 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of Roberson, Barich-Mooday, Brooke Barnes and Bagley won the event in 3:36.94, nearly five seconds ahead of Carthage.
Ashley Bowen claimed the 1,000 yard freestyle with a dominant time of 11:21.67, over 13 seconds faster than the field. Kayla Roberson won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.07, topping teammates Maggie Franke and Barich-Mooday in a 1-2-3 Thunder finish. Roberson also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:18.33, edging the field by over 11 seconds. Erin Bagley also won two events, taking first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.11 and winning the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:27.63. Meredith Clarkson won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.26. Liz George won the 100-yard butterfly in 59.73 seconds and won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:13.98, nearly seven seconds ahead of the field. Brooke Barnes won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.84 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle in 54.31 seconds.
In the men's meet, 
Chris Dingfield won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:55.71 and won the 100-yard butterfly in 51.57 seconds. 
Chris Szymczak won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:54.33, edging the field by a full second. 
Will McCauley won the 500-yard freestyle in 4;51.40. Wheaton's 400-yard freestyle relay team of 
Jacob Clement, 
Chris Szymczak, 
Daniel Deysher and 
Jack O'Connor topped the Red Men by just under a second with a time of 3:11.16.
