Madison, Wis. – The Thunder volleyball team played a pair of matches on Tuesday night at the Edgewood College Tri-Match. UW-Oshkosh defeated Wheaton 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-14) in the middle match of the evening and the host Eagles of Edgewood topped the Thunder 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 25-9, 25-27, 15-9) in the final match of the night. Wheaton is now 1-5 on the season.
Senior
Shelby Knowles led the Thunder against UW-Oshkosh with 11 kills and she added 11 digs.
Meghan Lacey added seven kills with a team-high 13 digs. Setters
Ashley Torok and
Kelly Thornton each had 11 assists and
Jessica Bosse tallied 10 digs.
Lacey led the Thunder in the matchup against Edgewood with 17 kills. Knowles tallied 14 kills, while
Katie Rohrer and
Hannah Japp each had seven kills. Lacey led the Thunder with 24 digs, Bosse added 23 digs and Knowles added 10 digs. Torok had 26 assists and Thornton had 20 assists.
Wheaton will travel to Thousand Oaks, California this weekend for participation in the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational. Wheaton will face Ohio Wesleyan, East Texas Baptist and fourth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the two-day tournament.
