Seventh-ranked men's soccer falls 1-0 in double overtime at Rose-Hulman

GAME STATS Terre Haute, Ind. - The Thunder men's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 double overtime defeat at Rose-Hulman. Wheaton falls to 1-1 on the season despite holding a 15-6 edge in shots and a 5-3 edge in shots in goal. The Fightin' Engineers improved to 2-0 with the victory.

Andrew Beard made two saves and allowed one goal in 104:38 of game time. Rose-Hulman's Michael Lawrence made two saves in 45 minutes of work and Carter Wright stopped three shots in 59:38 of action.

The Thunder owned a 10-5 edge in shots during regulation and padded their edge with a 4-0 advantage during the first overtime period. Rose-Hulman's only shot of extra time proved to be the game-winner.

Wheaton will be back in action on Friday night, September 9, when the Thunder host John Carroll at 7:00 PM in their first game of the Bob Baptista Invitational.
