Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton women's soccer team lost a conference matchup at home against Carroll University (9-3-1, 1-1-1) on Saturday night at Joe Bean Stadium. The Pioneers scored the first two goals of the night in earning a 3-1 victory against Wheaton (5-7-0, 2-1-0).
Carroll's Casey Weyrich gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead when she tallied her fourth goal of the season in the 25
th minute. The guests held a 2-0 lead at halftime thanks to a goal by Carroll's Rachel Van Sluys in the 35
th minute.
Madison Peebles scored for Wheaton in the 75
th minute to cut Carroll's lead to 2-1. Carroll's Delaney Pruitt registered her 10
th goal of the season in the 86
th minute to account for the 3-1 final score. Van Sluys assisted on Pruitt's goal.
Wheaton held a 13-9 advantage in shots tonight, however, Carroll held an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal. Carroll goalkeeper Christina O'Block made six saves and allowed one goal in her 90 minutes of work in the Pioneers' net. Thunder netminder

Wheaton will host Elmhurst on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in a CCIW matchup at Joe Bean Stadium.
