Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Wheaton Thunder women's soccer team picked up a non-conference win against Allegheny College (0-3-0) on Friday afternoon at the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Tartan Cup tournament.
The Thunder and Allegheny were tied at 0-0 in the first half of play, as Wheaton out-shot the Gators 6-1 in the opening half.

Wheaton freshman
Madison Peebles put the Thunder on the scoreboard when she tallied a goal in the 59
th minute. Sophomore
Morgan Whitman assisted on Peebles' goal that was collected off of a rebound to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead.
Freshman
Chelsea Gnan (PICTURED LEFT) netted her first collegiate goal in the 75
th minute when she put the ball in the back of the net on a shot from about six yards out. Gnan's goal increased Wheaton's lead to 2-0.
Kristin Rauh accounted for the 3-0 final score when she tallied her third goal of the season in the 89
th minute. Freshman
Anna Saunders assisted on Rauh's goal in the closing minutes.
Wheaton out-shot Allegheny 15-0 in the second half and the Thunder owned a 21-1 edge in shots for the match. Wheaton had an 11-2 edge in corner kicks in the match.
Thunder sophomore
Abbey Fuster made one save in registering the shutout in 90 minutes of work. Allegheny goalkeeper Tara Lynch made four saves and allowed three goals in 90 minutes of action in the Gators' net.
Wheaton (3-1-0) will face the host Tartans of Carnegie Mellon University (2-0-1) on Saturday 1:30 p.m. (EDT). The Tartans tied Ohio Northern 0-0 in two overtimes on Friday afternoon in the opening match of the tournament.
