Clermont, Fla. - The Wheaton softball team earned two wins on Tuesday during its Spring Break trip to Florida. The Thunder opened the afternoon with a 4-1 win against Monmouth (Ill.). Wheaton earned a 7-4 victory against Hood College in the second game of the day for the Thunder. Wheaton (3-3) will face Transylvania University in a doubleheader on Wednesday night.

In the 4-1 Thunder win against Monmouth, the Thunder scored four runs, on six hits with two errors and Monmouth plated one run, on five hits, with one error. Monmouth scored one run, on five hits, with one error.
Katie Thornton (2-1) earned the win in seven innings. She scattered five hits, with five strikeouts and one walk.

Emily Bonga (PICTURED LEFT) was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Becky Leone hit a double as she was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Alyssa Leonard was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Wheaton picked up the 7-4 win against Hood on Tuesday afternoon.
Abby Butler earned the win in the circle for the Thunder as she allowed three three runs on six hits. Thornton earned the save in one inning of relief as she allowed one run on two hits.
Megan Neuhaus scored twice, hitting a single for the Thunder.
