Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

The Thunder women's soccer team continues to roll with a 4-0 win at #18-Concordia-Moorhead

Moorhead, Minn. – The sixth-ranked Wheaton College women's soccer team continued its impressive start to the 2014 season with a 4-0 victory at #18-ranked Concordia-Moorhead.  Wheaton, now 4-0 on the season, will host UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
 
Wheaton and the Cobbers played a scoreless first half in today's matchup. Ally Witt put the Thunder on the scoreboard with a goal in the 51st minute to give Wheaton a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later, Anna Seabolt scored for Wheaton to increase the guests' lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute. Witt blasted her second goal of the match in the 60th minute to increase Wheaton's lead to 3-0. Witt's team-high fifth goal of the year was assisted by sophomore Sarah Frey. Frey assisted on a Mary Pettit goal in the 76th minute that increased the Wheaton lead to 4-0.
 
Wheaton controlled today's match with an 18-4 advantage in shots and the Thunder held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks tonight. Thunder starting goalkeeper Kelsey Graham made one save in 79 minutes of action, with no goals allowed. Freshman Abbey Fuster replaced Graham for the final 11 minutes of the match and she made two saves and allowed no goals to preserve Wheaton's second consecutive shutout. Concordia netminder Elizabeth Bitzan made five saves and allowed four goals.
