Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton women's soccer team, ranked fifth in this week's
NSCAA Division III Top-25, returned home on Wednesday night for a 3-0 victory against UW-Stevens Point (1-5). Wheaton is now 5-0 on the season and will travel to Calvin College on Saturday for a 2:30 PM (EDT) match against the Knights.

Despite a 12-5 advantage in shots for the Thunder in the first half, the match was scoreless for most of the opening half. Thunder sophomore
Sarah Frey broke the scoreless tie in the 43rd minute when she kicked the ball into the net off of a rebound, with an assist from
Alexa Sharkey. Frey's goal allowed the Thunder to hold a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Early in the second half,
Kendall Eitreim scored on a long shot from about 20 yards out to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead in the 51st minute.
Sydney Sharkey (PICTURED LEFT) added Wheaton's third goal of the night in the 83rd minute to account for the 3-0 final score.
Wheaton out-shot the Pointers 27-8 on the night, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded three corner kicks on the night and the Pointers received one. Senior goalkeeper posted the shutout for the Thunder as she made two saves. UW-Stevens Point netminder Kristen Churkey allowed three goals and she recorded six saves in the Pointers' net.
