Hope started to take the upper hand in the early minutes of the second half and came inches away from taking the lead when Tarwo Konbloa's shot from the top of the box thumped off the crossbar at the 52:17 mark of the match. Several minutes later, a tactical shift from the Thunder led to a slight momentum swing and almost forced a goal when
Max Carey's swinging volley sailed inches over the crossbar.
