Moorhead, Minn. – The sixth-ranked Wheaton women's soccer team was a 5-0 victor on Friday against College of St. Scholastica in the first day of action at Concordia-Moorhead's "Cobber Soccer Invite". The Thunder will return to action at 5 p.m. on Saturday in a battle of nationally ranked teams when Wheaton takes on 18th-ranked Concordia-Moorhead.
Ally Witt scored the first goal of the match when she netted her third goal of the season in the 18th minute to give Wheaton a 1-0 lead. Less than five minutes later, senior
Anna Seabolt registered her second goal of the season to increase the Wheaton lead to 2-0. Seabolt's goal in 23rd minute was the result of a
Sydney Sharkey assist. Wheaton maintained a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Sarah Guidera scored off of a
Bailey Wysocki assist early in the second half to increase the Thunder advantage to 3-0 in the 47th minute. Wysocki joined in the scoring in the 53rd minute when she tallied her second goal of the season for a 4-0 Wheaton edge. Sophomore
Sarah Frey scored her team-best fourth goal of the year in the 83rd minute to account for Wheaton's 5-0 final result.
Mary Pettit and Witt each assisted on Frey's goal.
Wheaton owned a commanding 35-4 advantage in shots in the match and the Thunder attempted eight corner kicks to zero corner kicks for St. Scholastica. Wheaton goalkeeper
Kelsey Graham started in net for the Thunder, with two saves and no goals allowed in 71 minutes of work. Freshman
Abbey Fuster played 19 minutes in net with no goals allowed. Kelsey Reeves played all 90 minutes in net for St. Scholastica as she made 11 saves with five goals.
