Dubuque, Iowa
- A pair of second half goals proved to be the difference as the #4-ranked Wheaton women's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory at Loras on Saturday evening.  Wheaton used a 10-1 second half endge in shots to net two goals including an insurance tally in the game's final seconds to improve to 7-1 on the season. With the loss, Loras falls to 4-5. Wheaton will return home on Wednesday night to host the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds at 7 PM at Joe Bean Stadium.

14082The Thunder held a 15-2 edge in shots in the match and a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton had seven corner kick opportunities to just two for the Duhawks. Abbey Fuster earned the easy clean sheet for the Thunder, facing no shots on goal. Hannah Wilson allowed two goals and made seven saves for the Duhawks.

Wheaton held only a 5-1 shot advantage in the first half and didn't dent the scoreboard until Sarah Frey found Anna Burnidge for her first goal of the season to give Wheaton the 1-0 lead at the 69:10 mark. Pushing forward for an equalizer late in the match, the Duhawks failed to score off a corner kick and were left vulnerable to counterattack. With plenty of space to work with, Ally Witt (PICTURED RIGHT) scored Wheaton's second goal on an empty net with just two seconds remaining. The goal was Witt's sixth of the season.

Wheaton returns to Joe Bean Stadium on Wednesday night when the Thunder host UW-Eau Claire at 7 PM.
