#17-ranked men's soccer tops Greenville 2-0 (UPDATED)

GAME STATS PICTURED ABOVE: Matt Paprocki registered his second clean sheet of the season in Wheaton's 2-0 win over Greenville on Wednesday night.

Greenville, Ill.
- A pair of late goals in each half proved to be the difference on Tuesday night as the #17-ranked Thunder men's soccer team won its fourth straight with a 2-0 victory over Greenville College. Despite outshooting the Panters 23-3 and holding a 12-2 edge in shots on goal, the Panthers were able to stay in the match until a late goal final provided the final cushion. Wheaton improves to 6-2 with the win and wraps up a three-game road swing that saw the Thunder cover over 2,200 miles. The Panthers fall to 3-3-1 with the loss.

Matt Paprocki recorded his second shutout of the year, making two saves for the Thunder. Greenville netminder Thomas Crown kept the Panthers in the match by making 10 saves but allowing two goals.

Wheaton captured the high ground late in the first half when Jon Clark found CCIW Player of the Week Stephen Golz for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. It is the third consecutive game with a goal for the junior forward. The 1-0 lead lasted long into the second half when Marshall Hollingsworth finally gave Wheaton a 2-0 lead at the 88:20 mark with an assist from Blackman. For Hollingsworth it was his fourth goal of the season.

Wheaton will next be in action on Friday night when the Thunder host Bethel University at 7 PM at Joe Bean Stadium.

Note Worthy: With tonight's win, head coach Mike Giuliano moved past Bob Baptista to become the second-winningest coach in program history. Giuliano is 105-40-18 in his eight years at the helm. Baptista was 104-52-22 in 16 seasons leading the program from 1951-57 and 1959-76.
