Thunder softball ends the season with a doubleheader split with North Park

drew a bases loaded walk that brought the final run of the game home.

Katy Ortinau (8-7) earned the win in the circle for the Vikings. She pitched six innings, allowing seven runs, on nine hits, with three walks. Danielle Warner pitched one inning of relief, allowing two hits, with no runs and two walks.

Wheaton closed out its season with the 6-2 win in the nightcap as the Thunder scored six runs, on 10 hits, with no errors and the Vikings tallied two runs, on two hits, with two errors. Thornton (9-8) earned the win in seven innings of work in the circle. Thornton (PICTURED LEFT) allowed two runs, including one earned run, on two hits, with six walks and five strikeouts. Goeke, a Thunder senior, was 3-for-4, with a run scored and a RBI in her final collegiate game.

also each drove in a run in the inning.

The Thunder extended its lead to 6-0 in the top of the fourth inning with three more runs. Bonga (PICTURED RIGHT) led off the fourth inning with a long home run to centerfield. Becky Leone followed with a single and she scored on the following at bat as Pritchard brought her home with a double.  Sandstedt added a sacrifice fly in the inning to account for Wheaton's third run of the sixth. North Park tallied one unearned run in the bottom of the seventh, but could not complete the rally as the Thunder earned the 6-2 victory.
 
North Park starting pitcher Danielle Warner (8-10) took the loss in three innings of work. Warner allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits, with one walk. Ortinau pitched four innings of relief as she allowed one run, on two hits, with one walk.
