Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's soccer team advanced to the Final of the 2014 CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament with an 8-0 victory against Elmhurst on Tuesday night in a tournament semifinal at Wheaton's Joe Bean Stadium.
Wheaton, the tournament's number-one seed, will host either #2-Illinois Wesleyan or #3-Augustana on Saturday in the tournament's championship match. The Titans host Augustana on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the CCIW Tournament's other semifinal. The advancing team from Saturday's CCIW Tournament Championship Match will earn the CCIW's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.

Wheaton was in control early tonight and never looked back as the Thunder out-shot the Bluejays 23-2 in the first half. Wheaton's first goal came in the 13
th minute as
Mary Pettit scored thanks to assists from
Kristin Rauh and
Sarah Frey.
Kendall Eitreim increased Wheaton's lead in the 17
th minute with her second goal of the year and
Bailey Wysocki scored in the 20
th minute off of a
Sarah Frey assist.
Ally Witt tallied her team-leading 17
th goal of the year in the 25
th minute thanks to a
Sydney Sharkey (PICTURED LEFT) assist as Wheaton took a 4-0 lead.
Sydney Sharkey scored in the 29
th minute off an assist from Wysocki and
Kathryn McGregor increased Wheaton's lead to 6-0 with a goal in the 41
st minute that was assisted by
Samantha Frank. The Thunder led 6-0 at halftime.
Kristin Rauh scored her ninth goal of the season in the 47
th minute as she used an assist from a
Samantha Frank corner kick. Wheaton's eighth and final tally of the night was by McGregor in the 82
nd minute as she scored off of a
Morgan Whitman assist.
Wheaton's senior goalkeeper
Kelsey Graham played 34 minutes in net for the hosts, with two saves and no goals allowed.
Mary Daghfal played 19 minutes with two saves and
Abbey Fuster played 37 minutes with two saves to her credit. Elmhurst goalkeeper Melinda Vickers played the first 45 minutes, making seven saves with seven goals allowed. Emily Gordon played the second half of the match in net for the Bluejays with four saves and one goal allowed.
Wheaton owned a 32-9 advantage in shots tonight. Wheaton was awarded eight corner kicks in the match and Bluejays had one.
