#7-Women's soccer earns a 5-0 victory at Millikin

The Thunder women's soccer team, ranked seventh in this week's NSCAA Division III Coaches Poll, earned a 5-0 win at Millikin University (3-9-1/0-2-0 CCIW) on Saturday night. Wheaton is now 11-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in CCIW play. The Thunder will remain in conference play on Tuesday when Wheaton travels to Carthage College.
 
14058Wheaton led the Big Blue 3-0 at halftime as the Thunder tallied a trio of first-half goals. Ally Witt registered Wheaton's first goal when she scored in the 15th minute and about 1:30 later sophomore Sarah Frey scored in the 16th minute to increase the guests lead to 2-0. Megan Campbell increased Wheaton's lead to 3-0 with a goal from about 15 yards out in the 22nd minute.
 
Kristin Rauh increased Wheaton's lead to 4-0 with her fifth goal of the year in the 55th minute. Rauh's goal was the result of an assist from senior Alexa Sharkey. Kathyrn McGregor (PICTURED LEFT) scored off of an Anna Seabolt assist in the 78th minute to account for Wheaton's 5-0 final score.

Kelsey Graham played the first half in net for the Thunder and Mary Daghfal played the final 45 minutes, making one save as the duo worked to preserve the shutout. Kayla Lojas played in net for the Big Blue with 19 saves and five goals allowed. Wheaton out-shot Millikin 47-2 in the match, including a 24-1 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded 24 corner kicks and Millikin attempted one.
