Sheboygan, Wis. - The Wheaton College wrestling team resumed action on Saturday by posting a 4-0 record at Lakeland College's Muskie Duals. Wheaton is now 7-1 in dual matches on the year.
Wheaton opened with a 42-3 victory against UW-Oshkosh in the first session of the day and the Thunder earned a 37-9 win against Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in the second session. The Thunder topped the host Muskies of Lakeland College 34-6 in the third session and Wheaton closed out the day with a 34-13 victory against UW-Eau Claire in the final session.
Four Thunder wrestlers recorded perfect 4-0 records for the day as Mark Savenok (157-pounds); Stephen Aiello (165-pounds); Matt McCrary (174-pounds) and Taylor Gohn (Heavyweight) each won all four of their matches. Additionally, Mitch Steed was 3-0 at 197-pounds for the day.
The Thunder wrestling team will return to action next Saturday in North Manchester, Indiana with participation at Manchester College's "Spartan Mat Classic."
