Arden Hills, Minn. – The Thunder men's soccer team wrapped up their two-game weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 victory at Bethel University. With the victory the 13
th-ranked Thunder improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Royals fell to 2-2.
Wheaton outshot the Royals 13-8 in the match and also held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
Derek Babb registered his second shutout of the season by making three saves. Bethel keeper AJ Syler also made three saves while allowing four goals.
Wheaton broke the game open with a flurry of goals in the last third of the first half.
Stephen Golz put the Thunder in the lead at the 30:53 mark with a goal off an assist from brother
Jordan Golz. Golz then registered his second multi-goal game of the season with a second goal off an assist from
Jonathan Clark in the 41
st minute.
Chad Musgraves (PICTURED RIGHT) delivered one final tally before the halftime break with a goal at the 42:03 mark off a
Brendan Finnerty assist to give the Thunder a 3-0 lead at the break.
Ten minutes into the second half,
Marshall Hollingsworth capped the offensive output with an unassisted goal in the 56
th minute.
Wheaton continues their road swing on Wednesday night at 7 PM when they travel to Lisle to take on the Benedictine Eagles.
